Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai has strongly condemned the inhumane act of miscreants cutting the udders of cows in Vinayaka Nagar, Chamarajpet.
Expressing his anguish on social media platform X, Bommai wrote, “This barbaric act has deeply hurt us, as we revere the cow as a mother. That such a heinous act occurred in the state’s capital during the harvest festival of Makara Sankranti reflects the lack of fear of the government among wrongdoers.”
Bommai criticized the Congress-led state government, accusing it of neglecting cow protection. “The government’s failure to ensure proper funding for cow shelters and safeguard cows has emboldened such crimes,” he alleged.
He further stated that acts of cruelty against mute animals cannot be tolerated by any person with a conscience. “If this government holds even an ounce of respect for the sacred cow, it must act immediately. The culprits responsible for this reprehensible act should be identified and arrested without delay, and strict action must be taken against them,” he demanded.
Bommai also emphasized the need for medical care for the injured cows, urging the state government to ensure their proper treatment.
