Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has sealed 830 non-residential properties with significant pending property tax dues, announced BBMP’s Special Commissioner for Revenue, Mr. Munish Moudgil.
To ensure efficient tax collection, the BBMP has intensified its efforts across all eight zones of the city. The drive specifically targets high-value tax defaulters among non-residential property owners. As part of this initiative, properties with outstanding dues are being sealed, and legal measures such as attachment of property and auctioning are being actively employed to recover pending taxes.
Details of the Operation
Between January 1 and January 9, 2025, the BBMP sealed 830 non-residential properties across its jurisdiction. In the last 24 hours alone, 182 properties have been sealed as part of this ongoing campaign.
Instructions to Zonal Officers
Zonal officers have been directed to take stringent measures to recover pending property taxes. This includes identifying top defaulters and implementing prompt actions such as sealing properties, attaching movable and immovable assets, and conducting auctions where necessary.
