“The taste of hyacinth beans is known to those who know it. hyacinth beans is the king of all pulses. Even I am a farmer who grows hyacinth beans. Such fairs for the benefit of farmers, by farmers should be held more often. Fairs that are farmer-centric are the need of the hour,” said DCM D.K. Shivakumar.
Speaking to the media after participating in the hyacinth beans fair organized by Vasavi Condiments in the city, he said, “The hyacinth beans from Magadi region is more flavorful than ours. The taste of hyacinth beans grown in different lands varies.”
“Even in my house, we make a curry with hyacinth beans along with vegetables. Earlier it was available only for three winter months, now it is available all year round. I tasted hyacinth beans dosa at this fair. I will tell my wife to make it at home too,” he said.
“The hyacinth beans fair conducted by Vasavi Condiments for the past 24 years is my last program this year. I am personally happy to participate in it every year. Due to the demise of Manmohan Singh, I could not attend the inauguration of the hyacinth beans fair. Since it was a private event, I attended it,” he said.
“As 2024 is coming to an end, we are ready to welcome the new year 2025. This fair is preserving the livelihood of farmers and our culture. D.K. Shivakumar will support this good work,” he said.
“Thousands of people have come with their families and are celebrating the fair. In life, one should eat to their heart’s content and savor the taste of food. May the new year bring good to everyone,” he said.
