Speaking at a key event, the Vice President highlighted the importance of research in building a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) and expressed concerns about superficial research practices that fail to create lasting impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Call for Practical Research<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Vice President urged researchers to focus on studies with real-world applications rather than those that merely aim for momentary recognition. \u201cResearch papers with momentary importance, gathering dust on shelves, serve no purpose,\u201d he stated. He emphasized that impactful research must address the nation\u2019s pressing challenges and contribute to its development goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highlighting the significance of research in achieving self-reliance, the Vice President remarked, \u201cAtmanirbharta will come only when the world looks at us as a crucible of research and development.\u201d He stressed that India must not rest on its past laurels but continuously strive for excellence and innovation to stay relevant on the global stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Beyond Superficial Indigenisation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a critical observation, the Vice President pointed out the limitations of superficial indigenization. \u201cIndigenisation has no point when it is confined to nuts and bolts,\u201d he said.
